Fashion has been taking a sporty spin since last fall and it’s a trend that’s fun, comfy, and a bit tongue-in-cheek. Mixing stylish pieces with items usually saved for track and field can’t be taken too seriously and is a great counterpart to dressy pieces. I’ve collected some great shots this week, that all have a decided athletic touch.

TNT of FashionTNT, created her own sporty pants by adding DIY white panels to black pants and pairing them with a leather jacket and strappy heels. Brilliant and right on trend.

Her collections are one of the current barometers of cool-girl chic and can be counted on to set off a new trend each season (next up: urban cowgirl for Fall 2012).

This is one of my favorite pictures. Normally, you’d see this all black mini-skirt outfit with stilettos or even cute flats. She took it to a whole other level of cool and nonchalance, by wearing it with her colorfully-laced Nike shoes.
