It’s December, which means time for parties, gatherings and festive outings. Having a few pieces to wear to those dressy-casual occasions, i.e. the open house party at your neighbors, drinks with friends, and whatever other merriment is thrown your way, is a good idea. If you’ve looked in your closet and are underwhelmed by the choices, no worries. This is a great year for sequins and sparkle, all done in a modern way.
Above, this BCBGeneration sweater ($128) has just a strip of sequins at the hem, with an otherwise very laid-back silhouette. It feels thrown-on and casual with a nod to the holiday season.
The silver, White House|Black Market sweater ($88) has a fitted shape with a spray of sequins on the shawl collar and at the bell sleeve. This is the kind of sweater you can wear again and again over the next few months.
Anthropologie’s Bib Tank ($68) with subtle ruffle at the hem is sophisticated and sexy. It will show off your glimmering shoulders and when paired with some knock-out silver earrings, you’re basically ready to go.
The Emma&Posh cashmere tunic ($378) at Searle is also incredibly sexy, in a covered-up way, and would look great with slim pants or over leggings with ankle boots or shooties.
Lastly, another pretty way to lay on the luster is this Anthropologie Twinkle headband ($38) available in both gold and silver. It’s easy, gorgeous and unexpected.
If in doubt, go for shine and luster as you’re dashing through the snow and decking the halls with loved ones this month.
