The Rockies got another snow storm this weekend, dropping 8″ of fresh powder in the mountains and there’s more on the way. It’s the beginning of ski season here in beautiful Colorado and time to hit the slopes. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, what matters to all of us is staying warm, buying quality gear that moves with you and showing your individual style.
Here’s what’s hot locally:
When buying ski/boarding gear look for a few things:
- pockets – inner and outer pockets for stashing money, phone, tissues and trail maps
- waterproof seams and zippers – you don’t want water or snow sneaking in…brrrr!
- pit and leg zips – you’ll want them on warmer days
- movement – if you can’t move in the store, you can’t move on the slopes
Don’t forget the extras like hand warmers, a neck gaitor and base layers (i.e. long underwear), plus the obvious items of a helmet, gloves and goggles. Check out rei.com, christysports.com and thenorthface.com for more excellent gear selection.
See you on the mountain!
