Nature Girl

Combing through the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar on the treadmill today, I dog-eared nearly 50 pages of inspiring items and photos. It’s a jam-packed issue with excellent styling ideas. It was good enough to make me hill-climb for an extra 15 minutes without even realizing it. I’ll chalk it up to an exciting season of wearable clothes and the Crazy Heart movie soundtrack that I was listening too (y’all, Jeff Bridges can sing!)

I’m still in catch-up mode from an end-of-summer vacation to the hills of North Carolina. It’s such a beautiful part of the country, especially if you’re into hiking like we are. The trails lead to waterfalls that are wide and lush at the top and then drop into lagoons of knee-high water perfect for wading. The adventurous people go sliding down the river on well-worn rocks and plunge into deeper areas of cold, crisp water. Heaven on a hot day.

I’m gathering up all kinds of ideas on the specific trends for this fall including aviator jackets, county cool, retro chic, minimalism, animal prints and the color stories of camel, red and blue. Heading into fall/winter, coats become a major purchase consideration since it’s the first thing (and many times the only thing) that people see.

I may be into fashion, but I love the great outdoors too. Here are three pairs of yummy suede, lace-up boots that, although I’d never wear them on a hiking trail, are perfectly amazing for the urban jungle!
Alaia Suede Lace-up Ankle Boots

Sergio Rossi Lace-up Platform Boot

Giuseppe Zanotti Lace-Up Suede Boots

More fall fashion coming soon. Lots and lots of it!
