Timberland Partners with Pharrell Williams on Eco-Friendly Boot
This is timely news for me. We just saw Pharrell perform with N.E.R.D on Sunday night and he is one cool dude. They opened for the Gorillaz (who put on a sick show) and he got the house jumpin’. Pharrell knows how to work a crowd and how to lay down a thumping track. It also looks like he knows how to design a boot with lots of swagger. He teamed up with longtime, boot mainstay, Timberland to make a line of eco-friendly boots out of organic cotton and recycled plastic bottles, materials from a company called Bionic Yarn, which he co-owns. The line of shoes and boots drops in January 2011, so be sure to check them out. Oh, and he said N.E.R.D.s new album hits November 2, so he’s been a busy little bee, hasn’t he?!
Hey, this is cool, I just found a video from one of the songs he debuted from the new album on Sunday night. Here’s “I Wanna Jam” from the new album Nothing.
Alright, moving on to the upcoming festivities of Halloween. In the spirit of this weekend of ghouls and ghosts, I found two tasty-looking cocktails. They are easy to make and just the thing to serve to bewitch a houseful of friends.
- 3 1/2 oz gin or vodka
- 1/2 oz blackberry brandy or black raspberry liqueur
- lemon twist for garnish
Kiss of Death
- Prosecco or champagne
- Maraschino cherry
Fill a champagne flute with cold bubbly. Garnish with a cherry.
Have fun this weekend, but please don’t let anyone drink and drive. Kids will be out on the streets and you know how crazy and unpredictable they can be when they’re all hopped up on sugar! Be safe and well.
