10 Dresses That Made Me Swoon

Best Couple: Matthew McConaughey & Camilla Alves

It’s finally done. Here’s my Oscars post featuring the best dresses of the night. This year we were treated to an unusual number of dresses to ogle. There was the regular Red Carpet glamour, but it didn’t stop there. The actresses trotted out even more dresses for the show itself. I don’t remember a year where the the actresses changed so many times. It was mind-boggling. It used to be that you wore a dress on the red carpet and that’s the one you wore all evening. Not anymore. Anne Hathaway changed 7 times (can you imagine finding 7 knock-out dresses to wear in a single evening?!)  The truth is that I only liked 3 of them. I guess I’m just that hard to please.

Here are my top picks from the Red Carpet, the show and the after parties.

That’s it — those are my picks. Love ’em or hate ’em. Feel free to leave your picks for best dressed in the comments. I know you have an opinion!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Live Chat on Sunday at the  BlogFrog and Glam.com Red Carpet Community. That was so much fun and we gave away some amazing prizes. A heartfelt shout out to my co-host Sally from AlreadyPretty.com. It was great to work with you this past week.

  1. I thought that Gwyneth looked tired and washed out. I don’t think the dress helped her in that regard. Also Jennifer Hudson’s bosom wasn’t very attractive in her very lovely dress. I like your other choices, though. Actually I like all the dresses you chose well enough.

    • Diane,
You’ve got a point about J. Hudson’s bosom in that dress. I kept my eye on it during the Red Carpet and at times wished it wasn’t so low cut on her. But all in all, I thought the cut and color on her was beyond fantastic.

  2. I want to add one more, Celine Dionne’s dress was gorgeous.

  3. I adore Kunis’ Saab gown – stunning, provocative & dramatic = perfect! It has a devastatingly sexy air, which is balanced by the pale lilac colour – just gorgeous!

    • Hi Laura,
Mila Kunis really nailed the red carpet this whole award season. She certainly has been “devastatingly sexy” as you wrote. Thanks for adding your comments!
