The Goods: Spring Blazers

Gibson Blazer

Gibson Blazer, $88 at Nordstrom

There’s nothing like a sharp blazer to get you through all kinds of situations. The ones I’m eyeballing have bright juicy hues that seem right for warm weather. Good for cold offices and cool nights. Good for meetings and as a taming element to a short hemline. Good for dressing up your jeans and t-shirt combo. Good for just about anything.

Options, options:

How To Fake Out Winter

It’s time for Fashion Week mayhem to ensue in New York. The 2012 Fall collections begin stomping down the runways today and run Feb. 9-16. I’ll be catching some of the shows via the Live Runway You Tube channel. If you want to see a particular designer, find the full schedule of designer showings at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week page. Today we’ll see Nicholas K, BCBG Max Azria and Richard Chai among others. Looking forward to it all!

Fake It Until You Make It

Sure, we’ve still got plenty of winter days ahead of us, but that’s no reason to keep the hopeful colors of spring at bay. I love how these women bring a pop of color to everyday neutrals. It’s one of the best ways to make the transition from winter to spring. For those of us who won’t see real spring weather until April, at least we can fake it for the next six weeks or so.

Bloomin’ Yellow

In My Garden (photo: Buckle Button Zip)

Inspired by the budding yellow daffodils in my garden this morning and the bright colors that are a signature trend for Spring 2011, let’s take a look at some sunny options that are ready for show right now:

Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Slim Wallet

Longchamp 'Darshan Flowers - Small' Tote

Anthropologie Creased Swirls Corset Top

Kenneth Cole Reaction "Shine Through"

West Elm Modernist Bowl

Modcloth Canary Your Things Mug

I’ll take one of each please!

Ending the post with some lovely words that came on the end of my tea bag:

I am beautiful,

I am bountiful,

I am blissful.

L.A.M.B. Ultraviolet Briolette bag $195

The 80’s continue to influence fashion in Spring 2010 with the trend in Brights. For this edit, I pulled all accessories, because I think it’s an easy way to incorporated the look. Pull on your black leggings, that long slinky top and reach for a candy-coated bag or stack of bracelets for maximum pop. You’ll notice the prices are decent, save the Alexander McQueen black pumps with neon yellow stripe. Those are merely an item to lust for. Otherwise, all items are under $200.

If you’ve already lived through the 80’s, there’s no reason to skip the trend. Pile on the bracelets and have fun with it!
