If you’re feeling the itch to add some new life to your closet, here are 6 of the cutest spring blazers available right now. Blazers are right at home this time of year, when the weather is going between chilly and warm. They always sharpen up an outfit, give a great silhouette and are a smart way to bridge the gap between seasons.
All of these blazers are around $100 and hit some of the major trends for Spring 2013, namely stripes, print, bright, moto and slouchy. For not much money, you can try a trend and give your winter basics a new twist.

If you’re looking for a white blazer for spring, I can recommend the Zara Jogging Blazer (also comes in grey and black) which is only $79. Mine just came last week and it has cute polka dot fabric at the turned cuff and a nice sharp shoulder. The quality is nicer than I’d expect for the price and drapes well. I’m looking forward to breaking it out at the first sign of warmth.

It’s maddening to buy clothes that have a one-season shelf life. We spend a lot of time shopping for clothing, that we might only wear for a short amount of time. I’m always interested in getting more mileage out of things, even trendy items, which by their very nature are short-lived (maybe 2-4 seasons, i.e. all-white has been going steadily for about 3 seasons and is heading into 2013 as strong as ever).
With the Spring 2013 runway collections wrapping up in Paris, next year’s trends are already starting to crystallize. Since most of us are still shopping for this season, why not kill two birds with one stone? You can add a few forward-looking trends to your closet right now, that will have you ahead of the curve come March.
Les Copains, Spring 2013
Gucci, Spring 2013
Balmain, Spring 2013
Dries Van Noten, Spring 2013
Thom Dolan, $350
I got a kick out of the Dries Van Noten spring collection this year. He makes me want to pick up some plaid and relive the 90s. His layering techniques and materials are masterful. Click the link above and see how he turned grunge into a posh affair.
My Spring Fashion Pinterest board is up to 141 looks. If you want to see what else is trending, go take a look and get ahead on your shopping.

When I saw this street style shot from Pics by Polka Dot, it just made me want to see if I could shop it for the blog. Plus, having just done a post on yellow accents (Bloomin’ Yellow), the timing was perfect for this inspiration.
You might be able to thrift a similar denim dress to the look above, since it’s such a classic look. I’m guessing that Banana Republic and Gap have done something similar recently. If you can’t find one though, the dresses I sourced from Current/Elliott and Tory Burch have really good lines and could be worn for years. Check out the detail on the Current/Elliott dress — it even has a frayed hem (so cute).
The yellow sandals shown above are alright, but I think this outfit would look even better with a pair of Frye clog sandals or the Aldo two-tone sandals with the metallic-detailed toe (shown below). What do you think? Which ones do you like better? That mustard strap on the Aldos has just the right amount of sass, in my opinion, but I’m a sucker for Frye shoes. I’d have to try them both on to really decide.
Finish the look off with a tan belt and structured satchel and you’re street style ready.
Send me a link to your blog if you try out this look for yourself. I’d love to see how you style it up and make it your own. Kudos to Street Style London / Pics by Polka Dot for the amazing photography. See more here.
Have a great day, lovelies!

In My Garden (photo: Buckle Button Zip)
Inspired by the budding yellow daffodils in my garden this morning and the bright colors that are a signature trend for Spring 2011, let’s take a look at some sunny options that are ready for show right now:
Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Slim Wallet
Longchamp 'Darshan Flowers - Small' Tote
Anthropologie Creased Swirls Corset Top
Kenneth Cole Reaction "Shine Through"
West Elm Modernist Bowl
Modcloth Canary Your Things Mug
I’ll take one of each please!
Ending the post with some lovely words that came on the end of my tea bag:
I am beautiful,
I am bountiful,
I am blissful.
